Summary:How Lana and Jen react when they find out Swan Queen is becoming OUAT canon

A/N: I’ve been wrapped up in writing my other fic, but I’ve received a bevy of messages from concerned Anons campaigning me to get this one going. So as I always say: Anything for you, Anon! I do it all for you! XoXo

Jen felt significantly overwhelmed, she had spent the past couple days, reading all of the stories that Lana had given her, and then she went online in search of more! She was a bit embarrassed of this fact, but once she started reading she found herself quite unable to stop. Some of the imagery was so vivid, coupled with the real life sensations that Lana provoked in her made for an enticing fusion of fantasy and reality: an addictive sensation that she only allowed herself to indulge in in privacy. Jen had pushed back the private rehearsal for a few days using the excuse of her birthday, but it was really from nerves. Now, she couldn’t wait any longer or push it back any further, and Lana was expecting Jen to join her on set, in costume, very soon, to block out their “practice scene.”

Reading and fantasizing was one thing, but to actually act it out? That was another worry altogether. She had never spent time with Lana alone on set, always opting to talk to Ginny or Josh- really, anyone else who was around, but never Lana. It was rude, she knew, but she didn’t care. Lana had plenty of friends on set. She and Bobby were practically inseparable. She went on coffee runs with the crew and sung silly songs with the property master. No doubt in Jen’s mind that Lana was popular enough, (among the fans too), that she didn’t need her friendship or approval.

It left a bitter taste in her mouth, as she pulled up to the deserted lot. It had been a dark day, no filming, and without the usual hustle and bustle of work, the large production stage was quiet and unsettling. Jen sighed, while she waited for Lana to arrive and unlock the door leading to the Mayor’s office set, she let fantasy images play in her mind’s eye. Lana’s chipper voice interrupted her from her reverie.

“Hey! Are you ready?” Did you read up?” Lana gave her a wink, and Jen took in her appearance. She was the picture of Regina character’s perfection in her skirt suit, crisp white blouse and blazer. She was even sporting some gold jewelry, and the trademark flicky hair, and mac lipstick. Jen frowned in jealousy, looking at her own skin tight jeans, tank and cheap pleather jacket. Hair done up in a ponytail.  Lana even got the better wardrobe.

“Guess so,” she replied making sure she sounded completely indifferent to the whole event.

“You wore the blue jacket- that’s my fave,” Lana unsettled her further, blatantly checking out her whole ensemble and nodding in approval.

“Yeah? I’m partial to the red one. It really shows Emma’s strength of character, I think,” Jen nervously zipped up the jacket and followed Lana as they entered the set.

Lana went about turning on the ambient lights. Without the harsh stage lights necessary for filming, the office was dim, quiet and all too romantic. Lana’s heels echoed on the hard floor, another thing that annoyed Jen.

Jen stood awkwardly clutching the pages they had agreed to rehearse in her sweaty palms, squinting in the dimness to make out her scrawled handwritten notes. Despite not liking the direction of the characters she was trying to commit to doing it well. After all, she couldn’t let Lana upstage her.  She gritted her teeth and waited for Lana to take the lead.

“So did you have a nice birthday?” Lana asked politely, crossing over to Jen her hands folded together in front of her.

“Yeah, it was fine- went out for a nice dinner and stuff,” Jen said in an offhand tone.

“Did you get my tweet?” Lana asked ducking in closer, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth and eyebrows lifted in interest.

“Uh, no I didn’t see it. My assistant handles all that web stuff…thanks though,” Jen sniffed and scratched her nose, embarrassed and covering her blush. She had seen Lana’s tweet, but she didn’t want to tell her for some silly reason. She felt weird acknowledging that Lana had acknowledged her- what was wrong with her, anyway?

“Did you read over the stories?” Lana asked, suddenly feeling like she was prying information out of Jen.

“Yeah, a lot,” Jen shifted her weight and held out the marked up “script.”

Lana couldn’t resist messing with her just a bit. Jen was acting even weirder and more awkward than she had the other night when they had kissed.  She took another step closer; Jen wasn’t even looking her in the eye.

With a glint in her eyes, and  in the same inquisitive, even, cool tone she asked sweetly, “Are you ready to push up my skirt and fuck me sideways on the desk?”
